President’s Comments

Communicate, Communicate and then Communicate Again

We are in trying times for the next few quarters but we are fortunate to be going into the season when South Florida has one benefit that others in the USA can’t match, our weather. The winter season in Boynton Beach and the surrounding area promises to be the bright spot for the business community in the coming months. With this in mind the best way to reach those visitors, part-time residents and year round residents that take full advantage of the great weather and outdoor activities is communicate what we have to offer. While our friends and families north of us wrap themselves in winter coats and shovel snow, send them am email with pictures of cool breezes and folks sitting outside enjoying dinner and drinks at an outside restaurant, in Boynton Beach of course. Send them a link to the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber www.BoyntonBeach.org and the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau www.palmbeachfl.com web sites showing details of the year-round activities that we especially enjoy in the winter months. As local businesses, communicate what you have to offer to the public, and what better way than through your Chamber of Commerce. As a Chamber member you have the services of the Chamber working for you and your business day and night. In our Visitor Lobby brochures and business cards for your business, on our Web Site the on-line directory of chamber members and services, our new Boynton Business Blog on the web site tracks news and information about the business community here in the Greater Boynton Beach area and our new Member Event Blog details all the activities our Chamber Members are promoting at their place of business. Communication is the responsibility of a strong Chamber of Commerce.

We are in the final quarter of 2008 and the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce is positioned to show the business community, residents and visitors to the Boynton Beach area that we are here for them. As you are reading this edition of the Business Monthly you are learning that our Chamber Visitor Lobby and Administration Offices are now at our new location on Congress Avenue just south of Gateway Blvd at Compson Place in Renaissance Commons. The Chamber will continue to welcome Visitors, Members and Residents now at our new home for the coming 2009 winter season. Watch for more announcements of our Open House and Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday December 17th starting at 4:00PM. Also mark your calendars for our 2009 Board of Directors Installation Luncheon at Benevento’s, Thursday January 8th starting at 11:30AM and our 2009 Board of Directors Dinner Dance on Friday January 30th at Indian Spring Country Club starting at 7:00PM, our theme this year is “New Beginnings”, highlighting special changes in Boynton Beach and changes at your Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber of Commerce mission remains three core activities that we are focused on each and ever day, to serve, to protect and to promote the membership of the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce continues to focus on all the positives that are driving our area to be a destination that residents, visitors and business will be proud of for the future. If you’re a local business, you won’t find a better value for your investment, than membership in the Chamber of Commerce. If you know of a business or individual that could benefit from Chamber Membership, please pass this Business Monthly on and have them contact us here at the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce.
