- Free Park & Ride from Bank of America Fed. Hwy & Ocean Ave. Fireworks at 9:00 p.m. sharp - vendors on site. Fireworks by Grucci! Great evening of fantastic fun for FREE!!!

July 18th - 1p.m. at Intracoastal Park - Developers roundtable with Commission & CRA Board topic - Building Green - Green task force leading discussion. The City's Green Task force is the birthchild of Dist. 4 Commissioner Marlene Ross! Boynton leading the way in going Green!

The new Emergency Command Center /Fire Station 5 being built at High Ridge & Gateway - next to Car Max.

Renovations at Sunshine Square - Woolbright & Federal, Scully's Restaurant - Federal Hwy - south of Woolbright, The Promenade - high rise condo on Federal Hwy just north of Boynton Beach Blvd. When other city's are stagnating and having no interest in development Boynton is growing both in residential and commercial/retail.

It has been a year since the CRA Board was dismissed and the commission took over on a 3 - 2 vote. Then in November the Board changed again - since November - the Commission and CRA Board have shown great leadership in moving many things forward and providing a unified and stable climate for development.

Some of the great things that have happened include: saving Galaxy School!!!, Helping the Chamber of Commerce in relocating to their new home on Congress by paying for permits!, Promoting the positive side of Boynton Beach High school and its great programs for students i.e. choir, aeronautic program, and so much more.

Moving forward conceptually with the Downtown Master Plan, Heart of Boynton projects with American Realty and Auburn Group which if they come to fruition will provide quality affordable housing in the most needed part of the city!, Not raising the milage and holding the line on taxes as they have been working to keep a balance budget when many other cities are increasing fees and taxes to cover short falls. Instead our Mayor and the commission decided to freeze hiring, cut non essentials without cutting programs or service, and to use 4 million in reserves and putting in a fire assessment that will only be $68 per resident. This done after many capital projects have been done over the past couple years - Intracoastal Park , Jaycee Park, Library expansion, Fire stations. !!! This plus great events for residents such Holiday Parade & Concert featuring Three Dog Night, Heritage Festival with the Commodores all free due to sponsorships, Ocean Front Concert series in season - once again sponsorship! More to come.

WOW can you believe all the stuff coming out of the ground in Boynton Beach - these projects are underway - Las Ventanas - a mix of retail and apartments being built at Woolbright & Federal Hwy. ,

Congress Ave. booming!!! To name a few new developments - Kohl's, Town Center shops (- Total Wine & More, Jason's Deli, Jimmy Johns, Red Lobster, Pollo Campero, Target, Best Buy, Massage Envy, and much more )., Reinssence Commons (Condo's and shops - including Bonefish Grill, Slante, ATT, Pi Wie, Starbucks, HSBC, State Farm, Jamba Juice, and much more- coming soon more restaurants!

Taste of Boynton June 6th was smash hit - sold out 500 people enjoyed an evening of 17 restaurants with great variety of taste and 90 wines and vodka tasting along with Cricklewood entertaining with great music and dancing! This is one of the best fund raisers for the Chamber of Commerce and great for all residents and others attending!! Great prizes were won at the silent auction event including a great getaway to Mizner Court at Broken Sound for 2 nights.

The lucky winners are Bill & Theresa Marcacci owners & operators of Cypress Creek Country Club!

Speaking of Cypress Creek Country Club - great deals on golf, super meals in the restaurant - and a great place to celebrate a special event! They are located at 9400 S. Military Trail.

Keep checking our site to stay up with what is happening in Boynton Beach! We got the Buzz!!

Shaq Appeal

A long reach is necessary for the Pheonix Suns center Shaquille Oneal's day job. But now it seems as if its necessary for his endorsements and extended partnerships, most recently with a new 24hour Fitness bearing his name here in Boynton Beach on 1775 North Congress Ave.

The 48,000-square-foot club managed by Chris Matchniff generating a lot of buzz largely because its 24 hour concept represents a serious demographic shift occurring throughout Boynton Beach. In a recent Sun Sentinel article Matchiniff explained "We never close," referring to the trademark name. "The only time we ever really shut down is Christmas." The new branch is not without established competition, with nearby outlets like Golds Gym and Curves.

The facility boast a staff of 60, state of the art fitness equipment, child care and of course an indoor basketball court. Its sleek ultra contemporary appeal is obvious but the true question is like the 300lb 7 footer in the room: can the former Heat star keep membership hot?

24 Hour Fitness Worldwide Inc. is a fitness center chain. The Company has more than three million members and 360 clubs in 16 states and three countries in Asia.

Venti Sized Opportunities For Boynton Starbucks

The ebb & flow of business, can be down right brutal despite the size of your company. Yesterdays announcement to close 600 U.S. outlets by Seattle based Starbucks Corporation (NYSE:SBUX) clearly demonstartes there are few exceptions to the cylclical changes in business.

With a total of 4 coffee houses in the Greater Boynton Beach area
( all seemingly located along Congress Ave.) there's a good chance 2 of the 4 will face closure. This may seem like a bear market outlook, however this is more about consideration for the tremendous opportunities the local Starbucks management will have providing they make the necessary adjustments to their marketing approach.

As each branch is likely to face new and super imposed revenue standards networking
and shaping dynamic partnerships with other local retailers can make a definitive difference in avoiding the upcoming rounds of closures.

Simply put, the managers of the local Boynton Beach branches must create a solid network or more importantly a stronger support system.

Obviously this
opportunity has always been available threw regular scheduled Chamber of Commerce events, but todays economic climate warrants a new sense of urgency.
